Our Story

MI.MOSA was founded by brothers Jacob and Majid Khalil with one clear vision: bring refined culinary experience into a welcoming, everyday setting.

With over 20 years of combined restaurant experience — from fine dining in California to upscale concepts throughout Detroit — we’ve learned that great food is only part of the experience. True hospitality is about energy, consistency, and making guests feel at home.

We created MI.MOSA to blend elevated flavors, handcrafted cocktails, and attentive service with a casual, vibrant atmosphere. Our menu is thoughtfully curated, our ingredients are carefully selected, and our team is trained to deliver a dining experience that feels polished yet approachable.

We proudly feature local artists throughout our space and believe in supporting the community that supports us. Whether you’re joining us for brunch, dinner, or a celebration, MI.MOSA is designed to be a place where food, art, and people come together.

Founded

We started with a unique vision even before we opened our doors on July 9th, 2016 for our Downtown Farmington location, MI.MOSA (pronounced my-mosa). We aim to be both a destination and a neighborhood favorite bringing students and restaurant professionals to a place looking to expose their passion in the kitchen. Creating an ever-changing menu masterpiece that pleases every palette.

Now

The menu features local, fresh Michigan products. Prohibition and arts, meet culinary and imagination.

Our drink menu features a list of original, classic, yet seasonally-driven cocktails. We include fresh iced tea, and delicious mimosas as well as a wide spectrum of craft beers on tap and bottled, and a diverse assortment of wines.

We are also pleased to showcase local artists throughout the restaurant gallery. Their paintings and other fine art are featured in our dining area and are available for purchase.
